Bielefeld // Health comes first: Due to the massive impact of the corona crisis, Executive Board, management and works council are planning in close collaboration a temporary shutdown of the European production plants and selected sales and service companies. This temporary interruption serves to protect the health of employees, customers, partners and suppliers as well as to safeguard employment. The shutdown applies from 1 - 30 April 2020.
“The current situation requires a strong joint effort. We are all working together to overcome this unprecedented situation. Our agreement on short-time work allows us to proceed in an orderly manner. In order to emerge from this difficult phase even stronger, we continue to advance our future field of digitization. Our way of working and acting is changing massively. This is being accelerated once again by the corona crisis,” says Christian Thönes, Chairman of the Executive Board of DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT.
Thomas Reiter, Chairman of the Group Works Council of DMG MORI AKTIENGESELLSCHAFT: “The corona crisis has intensified considerably in recent weeks. DMG MORI stands united in these times. As works council, it is important to us to protect the health of all employees and secure jobs during this phase.”
The extent, duration and negative consequences of the corona virus for the economy and industry as a whole are not yet foreseeable. DMG MORI is making a further contribution to the fight against Covid-19 with the temporary interruption of production and wants to secure employment in a phase in which demand is collapsing, many companies are stopping production and risks in the supply chains are increasing.
DMG MORI will do everything in its power to maintain customer support, sales and service. In addition, managing directors and managers are available at any time. The Executive Board, management and works council have agreed jointly on measures for a rapid resumption of production and assembly as well as sales and service as soon as health protection and demand allow. The common goal: to be a strong and reliable partner for customers even in the current situation.
