Bielefeld. GILDEMEISTER endows a professorship of Mechanical Engineering at the Chinese German College for Postgraduate Studies (CDHK) at Tongji University in Shanghai. The studies will focus on machine tools and the production logistics fields. Following the opening of its own production plant in Shanghai GILDEMEISTER intensifies its commitments to the Chinese economic area.
At home GILDEMEISTER has cultivated close relations with various colleges and universities over several years. With its promotion of research abroad the company is now breaking new ground in international co-operation. The scientific and practice-orientated supervision of the Chair in China has been taken on by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Raimund Klinkner, Deputy Chair of the Executive Board of GILDEMEISTER, as part of his Honorary Professorship at Berlin Technical University. Today there will be a ceremonial signing of the endowment agreement in Shanghai. The agreement has a term of five years. The CDHK is the first joint project of Tongji University and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in Bonn. The aim of the project is the strengthening of German-Chinese collaboration in education and research. Along with the Mechanical Engineering course of study, the CDHK offers two other subjects (Electro-Technics and Economics). It will therefore be possible to train executives for the business world of both countries. 16 German and Chinese companies are currently supporting the project.
