New Managing Director for future market of energy technology
Bielefeld/Würzburg. Dr Norbert Menke takes over responsibility for the “Energy Solutions“ division at the GILDEMEISTER group as of 1 April. GILDEMEISTER Energy Solutions offers innovative solutions in the areas of wind energy components, solar technology and energy storage.
GILDEMEISTER serves the growing market of solar technology with the “SunCarrier“tracking system of a+f GmbH, Würzburg. The market, considered as promising, for energy storage is catered to by Cellstrom GmbH, Vienna , with the long-lasting, low maintenance “cellcube“ big battery. Its areas of application are diverse: For example, the “cellcube“ can be used as an emergency power system or as a solar fuelling station with fast charging of electric vehicles. Components in the “Components“ area are manufactured, in particular, for wind power. With “Energy Solutions“ GILDEMEISTER has built up a young business area with future potential. Sales revenues doubled in financial year 2010 to € 239.5 million.
Dr Norbert Menke is regarded as an energy expert. As a graduate engineer, for the last 13 years the 48-year-old has been actively shaping the changes in the energy industry in various management roles, most recently as the chief executive officer of Stadtwerke Würzburg AG. As the chairman of the management board of a+f GmbH, Dr Menke will drive the expansion of GILDEMEISTER Energy Solutions. His expertise is also in demand in the training of up-and-coming engineers: he lectures in energy economics at the Chemnitz University of Technology.
