Bielefeld. With an order intake of Euro 24.3 million and 124 machines sold, GILDEMEISTER's attendance at the recent trade fair in Düsseldorf was declared a success. "Equally important are the 2,200 offers of post trade fair business that were triggered by the METAV", says GILDEMEISTER chairman, Dr. Rüdiger Kapitza. Following on from this success GILDEMEISTER now expects a more than 10% increase in incoming business for the first six months of 2004 in comparison with the previous year’s figures.
As one of the major exhibitors, GILDEMEISTER introduced 22 technology machines - six of which were premièred at the trade fair - and was involved in negotiations with 3,100 companies. The innovative turning and milling machines as well as the ultrasonic and laser technologies provoked much interest. For the first time, GILDEMEISTER exhibited its new duoBLOCK construction machining centres. The GIGA milling centre DMU 340 P (which weighs 80 tons and is 6.50 m high) was also shown live in production for the first time. With this large-scale machining centre GILDEMEISTER develops further into the large mould area.
The fresh impetus from the METAV to the German market reinforces business expectations for the entire year 2004. GILDEMEISTER will close the second quarter with an intake of new orders noticeably in excess of the level for the successful first quarter (Euro 241.0 million). The latest figures for the first six months of 2004 will be published on 5 August 2004.
