GILDEMEISTER receives orders to a value of € 107.7 million
Bielefeld. With order intake of € 107.7 million and 391 machines sold, GILDEMEISTER takes positive stock of its traditional in-house exhibition in Pfronten. With twice as much orders compared to the previous year (€ 53,4 million) this was the most successful in-house exhibition of all time. The result at the industry highlight, which ended on Saturday, confirms the strong demand for machine tools.
The successful outcome of the first event of the year at DECKEL MAHO Pfronten is a sign that demand for machine tools is growing. DMG presented a total of 63 exhibits, including 5 world premieres. Some 5,022 national and international trade visitors sought information on the full spectrum of cutting edge technologies as well as industry-specific solutions for the “Aerospace”, “Automotive”, “Medical” and “Energy Solutions“ sectors. One of the crowd pullers were the new XXL machines. These mega turning and milling centres can machine workpieces weighing up to 40 tonnes and with turning lengths of up to 6 metres. Construction parts of this size are used in energy technology, as well as in vehicle and plant construction.
We expect a further boost from the coming events in the growing Asian markets – the Timtos in Taiwan (1-6 March 2011), the Intermold in Korea (16-20 March 2011) and the CIMT in Beijing (11-16 April 2011). On 9 February GILDEMEISTER will publish provisional figures on business development in 2010.
