GILDEMEISTER Financial Report is MDAX winner
Bielefeld. GILDEMEISTER Aktiengesellschaft is the MDAX winner in the manager magazin ranking with its Financial Report 2008. For its exemplary transparency and open reporting, GILDEMEISTER received another award yesterday evening in Münster.
The Financial Report 2008 impressed once again with informative content, a high quality of language and clear design. The jurors pointed out, in particular, that GILDEMEISTER had completely met the Corporate Governance Code. The financial report thus shows a high degree of transparency and is written clearly legibly. The clear information is also reflected in the artwork: the motto in the year of the economic crisis ”Grasping chances. Showing strengths“ was visually interpreted with innovative graphics and an attractive photo spread.
This is the 15th time manager magazin has awarded prizes for financial reports of listed stock corporations. The competition is independent and unique worldwide. A team of specialists led by Prof. Dr. Dr. Jörg Baetge from the Institut für Revisionswesen (Institute of Accounting and Controlling) at the University of Münster analyses the financial reports from the DAX, MDAX, SDAX, TecDAX and Stoxx 50 indexes as well as from newly listed companies.
In the overall ranking, GILDEMEISTER achieved 2nd place among the 200 financial reports in total that were analysed. At www.gildemeister.com the award-winning financial report is available as an interactive online version and can also be downloaded.
In his keynote speech, Dr. Herbert Meyer, president of the Deutsche Prüfstelle für Rechnungslegung (Financial Reporting Enforcement Panel) in Berlin, stressed the importance of observing financial rules and regulations, so that an investor in the capital markets can obtain the right information for his investment decisions. As the head of the financial reporting police, he has discovered that roughly every fourth financial report is incorrect. The second speaker of the award ceremony evening was Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Heribert Meffert. In Germany, Prof. Meffert was one of the first professors to become involved in the area of marketing and founded the first institute for marketing in Germany at the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, where he was the director for many years. Prof. Meffert highlighted the significance of the financial report as a brand ambassador. The financial report is regarded as the instrument of an integrated corporate communication, through which strategic targets and visions are expressed.
