Bielefeld. a+f GmbH in Würzburg, a company of the GILDEMEISTER group, has received a further major order from Spain at a value of € 49.9 million. The order is for the delivery of 216 "SunCarrier" to the Extremadura region. a+f has now received a second major order within two weeks for its state-of-the art solar installations, which achieve about 30% more output than conventional systems.
The company will construct a further solar park near Badajoz for a Spanish investor. By autumn this year, 216 PLC guided solar tracking systems will be installed over a surface area of 400,000 square metres. The “SunCarrier” will then track the sun precisely and reliably with a solar surface of 280 square metres (Model 6.1). It is characterised by its stable technology, long lifespan and low service requirement leading to lower maintenance costs. The 216 “SunCarriers“ generate sufficient power output to supply about 4,300 four-person households with electricity.
GILDEMEISTER is participating in the fast-growing business area of solar technology with the “SunCarrier”. Due to the fast pace of development, a new solar centre of excellence is being constructed at the Würzburg site providing up to 100 modern work stations. By the end of 2008, a new energy-efficient four-storey building will be erected on 1,500 square metres. a+f GmbH is currently seeking a further 30 specialists. On the occasion of the press conference on Financial Statements on March 13, 2008, GILDEMEISTER will publish detailed information on the financial year 2007 and on the forecast for 2008.
